The hybrid POLA program

PO1 & 2s and CPOs are part of the Chief Petty Officer Leadership Academy (CPOA). 

During this training, the Chief Petty Officers & Petty Officer First and Second Classes will work with the POLA Staff to accomplish goals, tasks, evaluations, and all training operations. The Chiefs will learn what is expected of them and what being a true deck plate leader entails. The CPOA Staff will operate as a standard drilling unit would. And work to mentor and guide the crew they are designated to lead. 

The Chief is the backbone of the US Navy and the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp. The Hybrid POLA Program strives to strengthen that backbone. 

PO1s & 2s will learn what it takes and what is expected of them as a top performing Seinor Petty Officers on their way to becoming the Chief. PO1s will work with the Chiefs to accomplish all tasks while mentoring the crews they are designated to lead. 

CPOA  Staff will hold training staff positions and be mentored by the Senior POLA leadership. 

The Hybrid POLA program is a real-world, fully immersive practical exercise.  

Midshipmen to LTJG ranks are part of the Junior Officer Leadership Academy (JOLA). 

During this training, Midshipman, Ensign to LTJG will work with the Chief Petty Officers and Petty Officer First Classes to accomplish goals, tasks, evaluations, and all training operations. The JOLA staff will operate as a standard drilling unit would. The JOLA staff will conduct planning with the CPOs to create, modify, and carry out the plan of the day. Handle administrative tasks, Training tasks, and Operational tasks. 

JOLA Staff will hold training staff positions and be mentored by the Senior POLA leadership. 

The Hybrid POLA program is a real-world fully immersive practical exercise.
