GENERAL POLA KNOWLEDGE

Core Values

USNSCC's core values mirror those promoted by the maritime services and reflect both the mission and vision of the USNSCC. They have been selected because they represent the values expected of youth leaders as they leave high school and pursue futures in academics, the workforce, or military service. The USNSCC core values are Honor, Respect, Commitment, and Service.

  •  Honor: Conduct ourselves in the highest ethical manner. Be honest and truthful. Abide by an uncompromising code of integrity, taking responsibility for our actions and keeping our word

  •  Respect: Value the feelings, rights, and beliefs of others. Instill respect within the chain of command. Show respect toward all people without regard to race, religion, or gender. Treat each individual with dignity. Value every member of the USNSCC.

  •  Commitment: Care for the safety, professional, personal and spiritual well-being of our shipmates. Be committed to positive change and constant improvement. Use teamwork to improve the quality of our work, our people and ourselves.

  •  Service: Place the priorities of our country, our navy, and our shipmates above our own; building courage, instilling trust, and creating hope for those we serve and those we serve with.

NAVAL SEA CADET PETTY OFFICERS’ CREED

I AM HONORED TO HAVE ACHIEVED THE POSITION OF

CADET PETTY OFFICER IN THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SEA CADET CORPS

THROUGH DEDICATION, HARDWORK, AND MOTIVATION.

I HAVE LEARNED BY BEING A FOLLOWER,

AND AM NOW PREPARED TO BECOME A LEADER.

AS A CADET PETTY OFFICER,

I WILL TRAIN MY SHIPMATES TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY,

WHILE CONTINUING TO FURTHER MY KNOWLEDGE OF

THE WAYS OF THE U.S. NAVY AND COAST GUARD.

I WILL SET THE EXAMPLE AS A

DISCIPLINED, EDUCATED, PHYSICALLY FIT, AND UNBIASED LEADER.

I WILL INSTILL IN MY SHIPMATES, THROUGH MY OWN EXAMPLE,

THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF PRIDE, SERVICE, AND PATRIOTISM,

WHILE CONDUCTING MYSELF WITH

HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT.

Anchors Aweigh

Revised Lyrics of 1997 by MCPON John Hagen, USN (Ret)

Verse 1

Stand Navy out to sea,

Fight our battle cry;

We'll never change our course,

So vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y.

Roll out the TNT,

Anchors Aweigh.

Sail on to victory

And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!

Verse 2

Anchors Aweigh, my boys,

Anchors Aweigh.

Farewell to foreign shores,

We sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.

Through our last night ashore,

Drink to the foam,

Until we meet once more.

Here's wishing you a happy voyage home.

Verse 3

Blue of the mighty deep:

Gold of God's great sun.

Let these our colors be

Till all of time be done, done, done, done.

On seven seas we learn

Navy's stern call:

Faith, courage, service true,

With honor, over honor, over all.

Sea Cadet Oath

I promise to serve God,

honor our flag,

abide by Naval Sea Cadet Corps Regulations,

and carry out the orders

of the officers appointed over me,

and so conduct myself

as to be a credit to myself, my unit,

the Naval Sea Cadet Corps,

the Navy and my country.
